This hand-shaped backdrop was made for a customer’s 2 ft × 2 ft Children’s python enclosure. The brief grew into connected shelves, sheltered resting spots, a natural branch route and a matching hide we added as a bonus.

The useful bit

Every shelf earns its spot.

The ledges create a connected route rather than a row of decorative bumps. Broad resting areas sit alongside tighter pockets, while the branch links the lower and upper terrain. The removable hide carries the same carved texture so it belongs to the scene.

A little workshop magic

From blue foam to tiny escarpment.

The early shape looks wonderfully strange. That is where shelf depth, travel routes and the hide form are tested before the colour and surface treatment bring the scene together.
