You do not need to arrive with a perfect brief.

Start with the animal or species, what you would like to improve or have made, and a couple of clear photos if the project involves an enclosure or space. Rough dimensions, your postcode and any timing you already know are helpful too. You do not need to know the material, construction method or perfect wording.

We read through what you have sent and work out whether the project looks like a good fit. We may ask for a few measurements, photos or details before we can price it properly. An enquiry is just the start of the conversation — you are not committed to a build by sending one.

That is completely fine for the first conversation. Rough measurements and photos are enough to get started. When exact fit matters, we will tell you which measurements we need. If you are unsure, leave something uncertain rather than guessing.

Absolutely. Inspiration photos are useful for showing colour, texture, mood, shapes or features you like. We use them as direction rather than copying someone else’s work exactly, so your finished piece can still suit your animal, enclosure and practical needs.

Your quote shows the price, what is included, the deposit where applicable, any important exclusions or notes, and the terms that apply to that version. You can review the full quote before accepting it. If the project changes enough to affect the price or included work, we update the quote rather than expecting you to remember a change from a message.

It simply means “this is the layout I am happy for you to work from.” We keep that approved version so everyone is looking at the same design. If you later want something moved or changed, that is okay — we make an updated version for you to check instead of silently changing the one you already approved.

Yes. If you only want an existing ledge, vine or feature moved, you can show us through the customer design view where available. If you want something added, removed, resized or changed in a way that may affect the project or price, just write what you want in plain language. We will work out the technical side and send an updated proposal if needed.

For projects using the private customer page, we can share useful progress photos, updates and files as the job moves along. Not every workshop step needs an update, but you should have one place to check the important customer-side information instead of digging through old messages.

For large custom backdrops, customer collection is our most common option. You can also bring the empty enclosure to Oddball so we can build or sculpt directly around the real tank. Installation by Oddball can be quoted where practical. Large sculpted pieces can be bulky and expensive to protect and freight, so we do not want to present oversized shipping as a simple standard option. Smaller hides, bowls, accessories and other practical-sized products can be shipped where suitable. If you genuinely need a large backdrop freighted, tell us and we can investigate packaging, sectional construction and freight as a separate custom quote.

That can work well, and collecting the finished sections from us is the most common approach. If you would rather have the backdrop built directly into the enclosure, you can also ask about bringing the empty tank to us. Tell us early so access through doors, section sizes, joins and fixing method can be planned properly. If collection is not practical and the backdrop is too large for normal shipping, any freight option will be assessed and quoted case-by-case.

That depends on the materials and finish used on your particular project. We do not want customers guessing about curing or setup time, so any project-specific wait time, cleaning, installation or first-use information should be included with the handover information where it applies.

No. An enquiry lets us understand the idea and decide what information is needed next. Price, timing, deposit, the work being included and any booking are confirmed separately in writing before you commit.

Your enquiry confirmation can give you a private link for checking the enquiry. Once a project is underway, we can also issue a private customer project page for your quote, design, progress, shared files and messages.

Ask us. You are not expected to understand workshop terminology or interpret a technical note on your own. If something affects the price, fit, installation, care or what is being made, we would rather explain it clearly before you approve anything.
