Design the system, not just the visible effect.
“Add a waterfall” can describe the visible result, but a buildable feature also needs somewhere for the pump, tubing, catchment, drain or return, and service access to go. Foggers and misting systems have the same issue: the outlet is only one end of the system.
A useful layout therefore shows both the customer-facing feature and the hidden/service parts that keep it practical.
Map the water path before hiding it behind scenery.
- Where does water leave the visible waterfall or drip wall?
- Where is it collected?
- Where does the pump sit and how is it removed?
- Is a drain, bulkhead, return line or overflow provision needed?
- What parts need cleaning access?
The decorative shape can then be designed around those answers rather than forcing plumbing into whatever space happens to remain.
Separate the fog outlet from the fogger service location.
The place where fog looks best is not necessarily the place where equipment should live. Treat the fog outlet, delivery hose route and fogger/reservoir service location as separate design objects.
The same principle applies to misting: visible nozzle locations, tubing routes and external equipment connections can all be planned separately.
Lighting and electrical provisions should be drawn with access in mind.
Feature lighting can be integrated visually, but the drawing should still identify where drivers/controllers, cable entries, protected connections and removable access points belong. Wet or humid environments add another reason to keep the decorative layer separate from the serviceable equipment plan.
If it can fail, clog, wear or need cleaning, do not permanently bury it.
Pumps, filters, foggers, reservoirs, valves, light drivers and connectors are all easier to live with when access was part of the design. Removable panels, service pockets and deliberate routes can be disguised without becoming inaccessible.
Quote the visible feature and the integration scope separately.
Customer-facing quotes should make it clear whether Oddball is supplying/integrating equipment, providing only a mounting or connection location, working around customer-supplied equipment, or showing a design concept that still needs final component selection.
Optional lighting or fog features should remain visibly optional rather than being silently folded into the base price.
