Carpet python setup: make the height usable.
Carpet pythons are large semi-arboreal snakes. Height only counts if the snake can safely use it. Strong branches, broad resting positions and secure anchors matter more than a dramatic wall full of narrow decorative shelves.

A tall carpet-python enclosure can still waste vertical space if the only features are thin branches or decorative shelves. Large semi-arboreal snakes benefit from sturdy routes, broad resting areas and anchor points designed for the animal’s adult size and weight.
Create connected climbing routes
One isolated high shelf is less useful if there is no comfortable way to reach it. Think in connected routes: branch to ledge, ledge to resting shelf, and a safe path back down. Keep clear space around hot fittings.
Make elevated resting areas broad and secure
A large snake may spend long periods resting rather than actively climbing. Broad shelves or thick stable branches can be more valuable than many small protrusions. Surfaces should not flex, rotate or trap the animal between the wall and branch.
Keep large furniture serviceable
Branches and shelves collect shed, waste and substrate too. Where practical, use removable branch systems or accessible fixings so major pieces can be cleaned or replaced without destroying the backdrop.

- Check that branch anchors can resist twisting as well as downward weight.
